Shake, shake mama, like a ship goin' out to sea
Shake, shake mama, like a ship goin' out to sea
You took all my money and you give it to Richard Lee

Some of you women you really know your stuff
Some of you women you really know your stuff
But your clothes are all torn and your language is a little too rough

Shake, shake mama, raise your voice and pray
Shake, shake mama, raise your voice and pray
If you're goin' on home, better go the shortest way

Shake Shake Mama

It doesn't have to mean the usual.

The first section above: A ship shakes leaving port? Not much. A sway, maybe. But why that imagery? Maybe this one is meandering out unseen, her ultimate objective accomplished, but then she loses it anyway through one who deceives as she deceived. And thus the second section above.

These are practiced at luring. Her persona leaves a bad taste and her talkin' exposes the heart of someone false.

The third section: She doesn't hold back and here it's good. But she is the one at risk and there are influences. She is intimidating to too many. When you're done, just go straight home, girl.

But then if home is heaven, the shortest way is the clearest for those listening. Jesus said He is the Way and the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father but through Him. The way has been paid by His
blood and death and defeat over death in His resurrection. Some long, drawn out effort is not necessary, nor will it work. Just take the gift. Take the ticket.

THE RECORD

Indeed, she lies in wait like a robber,
and increases the unfaithful among men.

Proverbs 23:28

This is the way of an adulterous woman:
she eats and wipes her mouth
and says, “I have not done wrong.”

Proverbs 30:20

Who can find a wife of noble character?
For her value is far more than rubies.
The heart of her husband has confidence in her,
and he has no lack of gain.
She brings him good and not evil
all the days of her life.
She obtains wool and flax,
and she is pleased to work with her hands.
She is like the merchant ships;
she brings her food from afar.
She also gets up while it is still night,
and provides food for her household
and a portion to her female servants.
She considers a field and buys it;
from her own income she plants a vineyard.
She begins her work vigorously,
and she strengthens her arms.
She knows that her merchandise is good,
and her lamp does not go out in the night.
Her hands take hold of the distaff,
and her hands grasp the spindle.
She extends her hand to the poor,
and reaches out her hand to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household,
for all of her household are clothed with scarlet.
She makes for herself coverlets;
her clothing is fine linen and purple.
Her husband is well-known in the city gate
when he sits with the elders of the land.
She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
She is clothed with strength and honor,
and she can laugh at the time to come.
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and loving instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the ways of her household,
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed,
her husband also praises her:
“Many daughters have done valiantly,
but you surpass them all!”
Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting,
but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.
Give her credit for what she has accomplished,
and let her works praise her in the city gates.

Proverbs 31:10-31

“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is known by its fruit. Offspring of vipers! How are you able to say anything good, since you are evil? For the mouth speaks from what fills the heart. The good person brings good things out of his good treasury, and the evil person brings evil things out of his evil treasury. I tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

Matthew 12:33-37

I tell you the solemn truth, the one who hears my message and believes the one who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has crossed over from death to life.

John 5:24

Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him, "If you continue to follow my teaching, you are truly my disciples and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

So if the Son sets you free, you will be really free.

John 8:31-32, 36

For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery.

Galatians 5:1

Let your beauty not be external – the braiding of hair and wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes – but the inner person of the heart, the lasting beauty of a gentle and tranquil spirit, which is precious in God’s sight.

I Peter 3:3-4
